Anyone that is trying to sell the ECU reflash on a OZ ECU will tell u yes but i'm yet to see proof or a legit comparison on 2 different oz model bikes, one with a flash other stock

The OP is asking about the Gen4 bikes, not earlier gens. Ans specifically about the Aussie Gen4 whether it is indeed top speed restricted.

I have read that it is still around the 190mph top speed restricted inside ECU working off the wheel speed sensors. So a reflash is needed to do away with the Aussie/Euro speed limiter inside ECU which is acually 3 things, the speed limiter itself, the secondary throttle bodies closing near redline and the intake ram air flap closing near redline for you over seas guys.:eek:ccasion1
Garth here in states has broken 200mph but could not at first until the true speed limiter in ECU was removed. Simply flashing the Euro/Aussie map into the ECU, which was the very first flashes done here, did not allow bike to exceed 190mph. Though they did make more power. There is a thread with a response from Guhl, DT, and the magazine top speed test they did and how the bike failed to break over 190mph because of the hidden code in ECU to allow the Gen4 to keep going.

I see your 189 and I match:mrgreen:

I've run 189 indicated on my stock GEN III...

I try to do this at least once a season just to make sure all is good with the bike...

One year I was running my friends 07 CBR1000RR slightly modded and I could not pass him. Bike was creeping up to 177 he rolled 185

Turns out my horrible chain was the culprit... (Insert DID X-ring yada yada yada)

About a month later I'm out with my other beast of a rider buddy on his K7 GSXR1000... he pulls 186 I pull 189...

To his credit he corners better than me even at his 250+ lbs... But I can wheelie better than him...

I think real top speed on stock GEN III is a real 185...

I love mexico

Damn really? I figured it was around 195ish. It really felt like it just kept pulling right up to there. I wish I had gotten it on vid but didn't have my camera on that time, still had plenty of road ahead aswell. I later found out we were rolling up on a state trooper very quickly aswell.

If it makes any difference im only like 120lbs and 5'5 so I can tuck pretty well.

I owned a gen 2 2006 zx10r that had been tuned but only found out how much when getting gearbox issues resolved did 106mph in first 135 in second and never got it flat out, did keep on throttle till 197mph it was still pulling strong I backed off as I'd run out of straight road and nerves, only bike I've never topped out in 6th
