Hey everyone just wanted to start a thread documenting my journey with my zx10. I picked up a new 2024 anniversary edition and want to build my dream bike. I'm a Kawasaki fanboy so I knew the zx10 would be the bike for me and never really considered anything else.

So far all I've done are install swing arm spools, quick connect for battery tender and have the tail tidy and integrated tail light to remove the turn signals. After that this is the plan as the budget permits

Round 1 will be the exhaust and ecu flash, likely going with an akro and titanium link pipe and flash by 2wheeldyno.

Round 2 will be some handling upgrades, rear sets and steel brake lines an brembo RCS19 master and possibly a HEL thumb brake for the rear.

Round 3 will be the appearance package consisting of forged carbon replacing the black abs parts. Air intake/lower front fairing piece/side panels beside the dash/rear fender and possibly the undertail section

Round 4 is a stretch but possibly a set of white forged Core Moto wheels. (I may get kicked out of the house for this one)

I ended up getting a hindle pipe, about 2K less than going akro and it's a local Canadian company close to where I live, very popular pipe with racers because it gets the same power as an akro or sc for a third of the price. ECU is in the mail right now to 2wheeldyno. Pipe is just loose fitting in the pic not final install.

Installed the exhaust and block off plates today, now just waiting for the ecu to make its way home, probably be 2 weeks before I get it, then I have about a week to do the break in , change the oil and tires and be on track may 24th. I think I'm going to try the Michelin power slick 2

2wheeldyno has a dyno graph on their site, with a slip on and mid pipe it ran 196. It took a bit for the bike to run properly after reinstalling the ecu, sounded like it was running on two cylinders, and it took about 20 attempts to get it to even idle without stalling. Eventually the ecu figured it out but all the lights were lit up on the dash but after a couple rides it reset itself and everything is working as it should. Big difference with the flash though, this thing was fast before but it’s faster now, nice and smooth in the corners with just maintenance throttle , and a good gurgle and pop on the over run, I’m impressed with the pipe and tune for sure.

Halfway done the break in miles, 2 more weeks until track day!! What a fun and exciting bike this is when you get a chance to open it up, so smooth and just feels amazing on the side of its tire through the long sweeping corners. But does it suck when stuck in bumper to bumper traffic

Back on track this week, this time on my home track. Took a little getting used to, I spent the first morning blowing all the corners and running off the track once, but I'm getting the hang of it and really starting to enjoy it.
