hey everyone, just wanted to ask a few questions

which rims can be fitted to gen1 forks with ease? i have heard that a gen 2 rim can be fitted with custom bearings since the axle on a gen2 is 5mm larger, but I'm wondering about gen3 rims and onward just to know my options.

also which rims can be fitted to the gen1 swingarm with ease? i have heard that all zx10r rims from 04-10 fit straight on but again I'm wondering if any generations onwards can be used as well.

i guess i should note that i need everything else to be able to line up, so the brakes and the sprockets, of course a spacer isn't a big deal but i don't really want to have to make a whole custom set of hardware/collars/sleeves or whatever just to make a wheel work.

let me know how you get them fitted on!

i have both a first gen set of forks and first gen swingarm, with the nissin monoblock calipers from a 2019 zx6r and then zx14r brembo rotors.

the bike is a zx7r with these parts fitted

just let me know how its done and also any possible concerns when doing this.

If you want to use front 2/3 gen rim on 1st gen just change the bearings/seals.
Note: 2/3 gen use 25x47x12 . 1st gen use 20x42x12 . 20x47x12 is hard to find and is not cheap. So you can use 20x47x14 and remove 2mm from each side spacer (or made new spacers).

Rear rim set is the same .

this feels like a blur from a year or two ago but heres what i have for notes on fitting gen 4 wheels on the gen 1:

rear wheel bearings - 20 x 52 x 15
sprocket carrier bearing - 30 x 55 x 13 (this might be the stock size)
front wheel bearings - 20 x 47 x 12

front seals - 30 x 47 x 5
rear seals - 28 x 52 x 5
sprocket carrier seal - 35 x 55 x 7 (this might be the stock size)

i'm pretty sure i used the gen 1 sprocket carrier/hub spacer/cush drive and it dropped right into the gen 4 wheel.
For the wheel spacers, i used a set of captive spacers for the gen 1 zx10r.
I went with gen 4 calipers/rotors and it required a 10mm spacer under the calipers and matching bolts.
