Any reviews would be great. Thinking about buying another helmet. Really looking for something light. Thanks

Its light but loud. I really don't like the helmet. If you're going to spend $400 on a helmet save your money until your next paycheck and fork over another $200 and get yourself a RX7 or X-11. That's my opinion though.

YOu have heard wrong, it does not explode! The HJC, is snell, dot rated just like all the other helmets out there, you are gonna be just a safe in it as any other helmet, the differences is the Price VS Protection matrix is a big misnomer.

I like it, I have a suomy spec 1r Extreme as well and like the HJC better, its lighter, way quieter than the SUomy, The padding around the ear hole is a little uncomfortable after a long while, thats about my only complaint, and that the HJC logo is cleared over, would love to get rid of that , it would look way cooler.

it depends on the construction of the carbon. some are made to be extremely stiff and shatter on impact to dissapate energy. others, including the AC-12, are designed to be very strong but still extremely flexible. the most it will do is crack, just like any other composite based helmet shell will (arai, suomy, shoei, hjc, kbc, vemar, etc etc etc). all modern helmets have at least a little carbon fiber in them.

I tried one on and it reminded me of a rf1000. It fit me great and I seriously considered buying one but ended up with an arai. Check ebay. You can buy them new for $200-300.

I've said it before, I had that same lid in a standard shell. Worthless, IMHO. Large shell, loud, poor ventilation. I could go on, but save the money and buy a better lid. I will say that it saved my noggin when I got rearended.

I have an older HJC CL10, that was a 100 dollar lid and it's quality and functionality are above and beyond HJC's latest and greatest.
