Gen6 Out the Door Pricing?

This seems to be the same around here in San Diego, The dealers are low on 1000cc bikes. I just went to 4 different dealers in the past 2 weeks. and the floors look emptier than I have ever seen them.

Lots of 600cc sportbikes, even used ones..... They are selling 5 year old ZX10's for 13,000-14,000. Its pretty crazy to me, I paid around 8500 for my Gen 1 new. I guess, I'm just old now.

Talking to a Dealer manager that I know, He states that they are getting full MSRP plus a mark up for these bikes now. I just talked to a guy out on a ride the other day, Paid 21,000 for a new standard R1

For what it’s worth, I paid MSRP for my 2021 KRT ABS. I looked around at other dealerships and saw only one other for the spec I was looking for but never received a return call.
What I was told by the dealer (and others) is that the number of bikes they ordered was cut in half if not more. Saw the letters from their suppliers saying such posted up on a board in their office. They also mentioned that they just sold two non-ABS ZX-10Rs and that was all they were getting in the foreseeable future. Could be all sales talk though.
So in my case, it was take it at MSRP or walk. Two people where eyeballing it while I was there so I pulled the trigger.

I agree, These new 600's are pretty awesome compared to the late 90's early 2000's. But even paying over 10 grand for a 600 is still hard for me to think about.

I have an old TL1000R, tuned, full exhaust, blah, blah, blah. and These new 600's are just as fast if you know how to ride them.

I have funny feeling that bike prices are not going down anytime soon and may even go way up next year, IDK... Crazy times

@ZXTOM in that case, I would rather just buy the 600. I will never pay a new bike price for a used bike. If we can all be honest with each other, only the fastest riders are actually faster on a 1000 than a 600, unless we're talking highway pulls. I know I can corner at least as fast on my r3 as I can on my zx10r.
