Better head, higher lift cam, forged aluminum wheels, and better electronics. Only 500 will be made.

No electronic ohlins suspension? This may be Kawasaki aiming at the R1M.

Probably a good track bike for the price.

No adjustable ecu ?
Looks like the winter test edition with more hop up parts. Looks pretty hot though. Hope that rumor about not coming to the US isn't true.

and the SP2
Yeah honda came out with 3 models...and the SP2 is there version of the ZX10RR....
they got the CBR1000RR, CBR1000RR-sp, and CBR1000RR-SP2
(they have not shown the standard model with black frame, but the two sp models have different rims...and sp2 different engine.)

Im going to get the ZX10RR sticker lol.....

I want those rims....

I might just buy some.
Not sure if I'm all that excited about this model. Most of the cool bits are basically out of the zx10r race kit catalog, namely the engine head bits, and adjustable geometry bits. Not hard to get separately. Aside from that, all the items like electronics, wheels, exhaust, can also be bought separately. Surely this isn't aimed at helping racers/riders save money by packaging some logical upgrades with the bike. It will probably step the price tag up toward $20k mark if not higher. Probably more of a bragging right for Kawasaki than worth-while investment for end-users.

Yeah I think its more of an "Advertising" kinda thing more than realistic attempt to win more races. Also since almost all the models are now coming with 2 or more versions (top model aimed at racing/TD fans).

Also, it allows super stock to run a bike with more items. I think in World Super Stock 1000 you can not crack the engine open at all, but you can install the electronics package that is offered by the OEM. The engine is messaged and should produce more power...along with some stock rules that only allow OEM rims.

I heard this is why Honda made the SP few years ago.

So this model would help Club racers, Country level stock racers like Moto America stock class 1000.
DLC coated cam buckets.... hhhrrmmmmmm.......
Fek all on that Bike that threatens a well sorted 2016 model.

Full Ohlins on mine and Race spec Woolich Flash along with a HM Dash with all of Europe's Race Tracks built in to it for full on Data logging and Lap Timings.
I'm not a fan of electronic supsension or ESD. I love those wheels and changes. I wish the winter test edition was sold her. Love it
The engine case will be diferent...

bet the bike will make more hp...

sweet but not for mortals

going to buy the decals yes...

Im suprised to see more lift on the cams.... on a already very hi lift bike...
Probably a lot of money for an extra "R" :grin2:

Available only in this wildly subdued Winter Edition black paintjob, the new RR is a true homologation limited edition of 500 units, and is as race ready as you can buy – although it would be more accurate to say ‘race enabled’ rather than ‘ready’.

There are some nice touches, though. The stock wheels have been ditched in favour of lightweight 7-spoke Marchesini rims, wearing the same size 120/70 R17 and 190/55 R17 tyres as the stock R, but supplied as standard with Pirelli’s superb Supercorsa SP rubber.

The lighter rims – which can also be fitted to the standard ZX-10R – reduce gyroscopic effect and the moment of inertia, resulting in faster acceleration, braking, and direction changes.

The big changes are on the inside, though. The RR gets a modified cylinder head that’s ready to accept high-lift cams, although they’re not fitted as standard (they can be ordered as part of the Race Kit). The tappets get DLC coating for reduced friction, and the crankcases are reinforced to deal with the rigors of a race-tune.

Making its debut on the RR is also a new bidirectional KQS (Kawasaki Quick Shifter) that allows seamless shifting up and down the gearbox. This links in with the six-axis IMU that ties traction control, electronic engine brake control, launch control, intelligent anti-lock brakes and KCMF cornering management system together.

It comes as a single-seat option only, saving around a kilo of mass, gets its RR moninker engraved into the engine covers, and you get a special RR emblazoned key, too.
