It mostly boils down to the rider. The cbr's are known to be quick off the mark. If the cbr is modded, the chances are you will not be able to beat it with a stock zx10. Stock vs stock, I will bet on the zx10. However, since you are talking about the gen 2, it would be better to do a rolling start from 100kmph (around 60mph). The gen 2 is very strong 3rd gear onwards. Good luck.

I owned a 071krr and a 081krr...10r vs 1krr stock the 10r is much much powerful up top!! It does boil down to seat time though...

If the cbr has a power commander then close i reckon.

I had a mate with a 07 cbr and i could keep up with him near enough with my 636!! The pre-08 cbrs are def not that grunty...

hey guys. at the moment i dont have a bike because of financial problems. i have question. some guys are arguing that cbr1000 will destroy gen 2 on straight line. my ex bike was full stock. and 2007 cbr1000 has some mods. what do you think can cbr be even closer to zx10? i think it cant beat ninja on straight line.

daamn. i want bike so much. i will kill myself soon

The Honda is great... but straight line, after 9-10k rpms the 10 will smoke it.

I hear ya man I had an 06 zx10 it was quicker than my 06 CBR but the honda turned better for sure. My 08 CBR makes them both feel like tanks. Not that it matters becuse the new 10 is going to make all of them feel slow once its uncorked.:eek:ccasion1

OK, I currently have both an '08 ZX-10r and '07 CBR 1000RR. The 10r has a full Akra Evo and PCIII, CBR has Akra S/O and PCIII. CBR has lots of low end grunt and decent midrange with so-so topend, 10R has fantastic midrange and killer topend. No contest in a straight line, the 10r will blow it sideways. Twisties are different, both bikes turn great but the CBR has way better stability in the turns and the front end feels glued to the tarmac. Confidence wise, the 10r front end is dicey on corner exits if you're near the limit, especially when your tires get a little wear on them. Both are great bikes though and plan to keep them around.

Nice bikes man!! That 07 is sweet! I almost bought a left 07 CBR but I really didn't dig the silver. Too bad the current CBRs look so fugly.

Thanks, I picked up the '07 in March of '09. The dealer had a ton of surplus '08s and a few surplus '07s left at a discount. I couldn't come to grips with how ugly the '08s were although the '08 is said to be a superior machine. Long story short, I got the '07 and have enjoyed it , also dodged the bullet cause the '08/'09s turned out to be big time oil burners. '07 is tight as a drum.

BTW, I wasn't crazy about the silver either but they look sick in black!!

cheers!:eek:ccasion1
