Hi Ive just got the 2016 Winter Edition 10R a few days ago just came across a problem with the steering damper.
the issue being while i was riding the ESD switch which has the motor simple came off and I don't have any idea why later when i noticed I pluged it back in no warnings or errors.

but now when I just start the ignition switch the motor seems to make some noise which was not there earlier dont know why but something seems to be wrong.

Please help with your valuable suggestions.

My 2015 makes a similar sound. Maybe the same. Your phone mic might be making it sound a little different. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong but it's just a little electric servo and it will do a diagnostic check every time the ignition cycles. Had servo operated valves on my snowmobile. Same deal. If it's not functioning on its startup test your ESD light will come on and stay in.
I have the Winter edition too and mines gone back in for warranty cause the damper kept malfunctioning.

That noise though sounds like the servo doing its calibrations upon startup. Mine sounds the same just not so loud.
Thanks a lot brothers

Sounds like something is stripped to me. I would take it in and have them fix it as I am sure it's under warranty.
OEM Damper is a pile of shyte!

Binned mine in favour of a Race Spec manual Ohlins version, hugely better now!
