I hope this is in the right forum.

I fairly religiously watch the WSBK races on SPEED to cheer on Sykes and Kawasaki, and I was curious if anyone else has caught on to something I have noticed. Is it just me or does it seem like the commentators have a huge boner for Jonathan Rea? He doesn't make a single pass out there that they're not screaming at the top of their lungs over. Maybe I'm being over analytical since Sykes isn't doing as well as I'd like on this round, but it's been bugging me all year.

Sidenote- This season has been really awesome for competition and I love that no one rider is really running away with it.

They are similar on British Eurosport, he is a very good rider but i would prefer them to shout about Haslam or Sykes just as much.

It annoys me as well that when at the Italian rounds etc they just focus on Biaggi with the cameras.

Ya i think your definitely on to something, johnathan green & steve martin seem to get very excited on rea, they also use't to do that quite a bit for haga as well. I also agree with you on sykes not doing as good as i was hoping either, he gets pole & will lead a handful of laps but as soon as somebody passes him its like he gets flustered & just starts going backwards the rest of the race. the commentators always say tire's are going off on the zx10 but im not buying that the 10R is any harder on tire's then any other bike out there.

The ZX10r is doing ok but it's still in development. I still believe that they are having issues with the rear tire. It seems as thought the power delivery is still a bit brutal. I'm sure Kawi will figure it out at some point, programming those electronics can't be easy. It will be nice once the bike is well developed like Checa's.

Yeah as far as power it seems the Kawasaki is right there with the BMW and the RSV-4, if the tire can hold up I think the wins would be easy... on the bright side it seems Tom is very good at keeping the bike off the ground, which helps his case in points and finishing. Hell, if they could keep tires on and get the electronics package more dialed they could possibly see even more speed/drive down the straights.

Yes, they have a hard on for Rea and Malandri..They do make a good race exciting tho. I sure hope Kawi. figure out the issue soon. It's like going on a date and at the end of a night, the only thing you got was a "blue balls":headshake Now, do you want the Speed guys commentating the race or the Euro. ? I'll take the Euro's any race day..

Oh man! NO WAY do I want ANY U.S. commentators! No disrespect towards Russell or Shaheen but they arent anywhere close to the SBK or Moto GP. guys. Those guys put emotion into it and actually know what they are talking about.

It's even worse when watching Moto2 and you have to listen to them talk about Bradley Smith the entire time

I honestly think that Scott Russell is one of the most boring commentator out there.
Yeah I dearly love Scott, I really do. As a race announcer though he just isnt that great. He is much better now than when he first started but he still has some work to do.

The Euro commentators are tops IMHO no matter if they like Rea and every other British rider out there. At least they seem to get into the racing and make it enjoyable to listen to. I'd also listen to Russell all day long as long as Shaheen never ever picked up a microphone. His voice is like hearing nails scrape across a chalkboard.

I'm sick of watching just the italian riders, had to watch a full lap of biaggi riding round on his own when there was a battle going on behind him?

I prefer the Euro commentators as well. I like their enthusiasm.

I need freaking subtitles on the screen to try and figure out what Scott Russell is talking about. :headshake

Hey Rainey, it does my head in when you follow Max Biaggi into the friggin pits when theres action on the track, thats what happens tho with an italian director in charge of the program

LMAO, is this the guy from AMA superbike, coz i watch that also and thers a commentator on there who is so broad texan or summit like that i cant understand him, sounds abit like Nicky Hayden but much stronger accent.

The euro commentators are ex WSBK racer James Wittham and Jack Burnicle

That is Mr. Daytona himself. Used to run AMA and WSBK back in the day and he was unbelievable to watch on the Muzzy Kawasaki ZX-7RR. He's from the state Georgia. Strong southern accent. Along with the slow, monotone voice he's hard to understand. Especially when he gets excited and starts slurring a bit.
