After some discussion in another thread, I have decided to gauge interest in a 10r rally at the dragon. This thread will serve as a feeler for the magnitude of interest.

Maybe we can start small in the spring/summer of 2010 and build steam from there.

Would you like to meet and ride with some fellow 10r riders?

I think it's an ok idea but why not somewhere different like T.W.O. http://www.twowheelsonly.com/ ? Not so crowded but still plenty of riders to meet and a ton of good twisty roads. Also, you can ride up Twisty 60 to the Gap from here. I know it's probably not the popular choice because of all the talk the Gap receives, but I wouldn't even go up to the Gap if weren't for the Cherohala Skyway. Just a thought...but I would probably do a 10r Gap Rally.

im actually down for this...i live in NewMexicoand if we can set dates early now i would love to meet with you guys....also there are a ton of guys i ride with who would be totally down to go problem is they ride other manufacturers is that a problem?

I'm in. The dragon is four hours away...TWO is a little over an hour. And I'll meet up any time of year. Like right now, for example :thumbsup:

while I think that idea would be great, i am not sure that it would motivate people to travel like the gap would. either way, I am not trying to drive this bus, just getting it rolling.


as far as other manufacturers, i couldn't care less. i went to the sv rally last year on my 10r and I probably will this year too. its in june, its hot, and the place is crawling with bikes and cars. that's why i voted for a spring rally.


you guys feel free to throw out ideas on what would make a rally good to you.

I would but I think that the mad sunday at the isle's of man tt is better!! A lot of under cover/unmarked officers lately at the dragon. Friend of mine and about 7 other buddies just went up there maybe 1-2 months ago...3 of them got tickets on top of one got a written arrested!! Be careful up there, they said there cracking down...

If you can go to the isle of man tt for the price it costs me to go to the dragon, then count me in too.

as far as the police enforcement, its always tough. i was up there for a total of 14 days in june and july, and came away with out a ticket. i probably deserved 100, but you have to be smart. you get up early and make a couple of runs across the dragon, then have breakfast at deals gap store. once breakfast is finished, i usually head away from the dragon. i know multiple routes that are over 300 miles without a 1/4 mile of straights. no popo's as well.

Something that would attract even more people would be, get everyone to pitch in money and we could rent out a road course for the weekend! Road Atlanta, VIR, CMP, etc. ??? Wouldn't have to worry about getting tickets, arrested, etc. and i promise you everyone would have A LOT more fun!!! ccasion1 Some friends and i checked into renting CMP a few years ago, and i think it was gonna cost about 5 or 6 grand for the weekend, but with enough interest and people chipping in, it would be more then worth it!
