Well, I knew this day was coming but I've been too busy riding and not wanting to do it. My 04 has about 26k miles on her and it's about time she got a few maintenance things done to her. I took her apart quite a bit tonight and did a few little things.

1. Cut the lock nuts on the throttle cable to get max adj for 1/5th conversion
1. Removed the secondaries
2. Replaced the 2 inner spark plugs

On the list of things to do. . .

1. Replace the stock air filter with the K&N I got NEW off ebay for $30 shipped:thumbsup:
2. Change out the outer spark plugs
3. Prep as much of the bike for a valve adj, then take to local shop
4. Get fork seal fixed AGAIN :headshake
5. Flush fluid in radiator
6. Oil Change

I'm not really sure what else to do while I have her all nekkid.
Any suggestions as far as small mods? Any other maint. things I should keep in mind?

Why not do the valve adjustment yourself? Not too hard, and you only need a few simple tools.

Well, I thought about it after reading the write up last night, but wasn't sure if it was in my league.

I just finished replacing the outer spark plugs, what a PITA! :headshake

PAIR Blockoffs while you're in there.
Ahhh, that's the thing I forgot! Where can I get those?
And hell no I'm not painting her

Front brake pads are brand new and the front brakes are freshly done.
I'm sure the rear could use a flush but that'll be the last thing I do.

Graves makes some but you have to wallow out the holes a little bit. They're extremely soft aluminum though so nothing too difficult with a normal drill bit.

Ivan makes some.

I'm sure Attack makes some as well.

electronic air horn!
SERIOUSLY!
30bucks at harbor freight. run a fused wire directly to battery and mount where your old one was. worth. it. revving your motor isnt as nice as sounding like a big rig.

Thanks, I found another solution, looks like I'm gonna stuff a marble in a hose and get the same results without having to buy and install the blockoffs :helmet:

Sorry if this is a stoopid question, but what size shims should I be looking for with the valve adj? I asked a buddy if he knew where to get some, he told me he has some but then asked me what size I needed and I didn't know what to tell him?
Help please? Thanks
