Looking for a more crash proof location to mount my timer,

it was knocked out of its spot as pictured below in the accident but still works.

So, if you have a better idea or some pics of where yours is mounted, that would be very helpful!

Ive see people mount it on the triple tree or in front of the actual dash.

I cant tell by the pics and Im not very familiar with the body position on the gen 4 but could you do it just behind the damper on the tank?

gen 4 doesn't have the built in one or is it not good enough?
I think every generation has one.
And they are all crap.

The built-in lap timers are there and available, and while they may be fairly accurate, they are all manually activated. The last thing I'm thinking about on the track is "Oh, gotta remember to hit the lap timer as I cross start finish". Yeah, funk that. I've got other things, like braking and apexes, on my mind.

The built-in lap timers are there and available, and while they may be fairly accurate, they are all manually activated. Spot on.

Because my timer is GPS I don't have to worry about pushing buttons whilst riding.

I do need to see it though, in qualifying the best lap and fastest split light is invaluable for me.

Other than that I do occasionally look at it during a race to make sure I'm not dropping off my pace.

it might be a little half ass but maybe build a braket or zap trap to the right ride of the triple if it isn't in the way. If your bike is a race bike only you could just remove the ignition system and build a bracket there and also save some weight. Wire it so the kill switch is the on button. If you need to have a key you could wire in a lanyard.

Its gonna have to be something like that I think, needs to be pretty central to not get damaged and not to keen on velcro coz it needs to stay attached.

Guess it's gonna be strong 3m double sided tape, a bracket, cable ties or some kinda combination.
