What is this red stuff?

Doing some tending to the Gen 2, noticed this drain hose with red stuff in it. What the hell is it? Drain it? Bike has a little over 10k on the clock.

That's the airbox drain. The red stuff is likely air filter oil. Way too much of it obviously though. Drain it and reinstall the plug.

And then check the airbox and filter.

Done and done. Thanks Sky.

I may or may not have installed the air filter during my youthful "more is always better" phase.

np with that here. Just the oem filter and doubt any oil is on it, but idk as never looked at one.
It does have a K&N, and did look like filter oil. Drained, scoped out air box, went ahead and cleaned and lightly oiled filter while I was in there. Surprisingly most of the excess had come out the tube. Not much residue in the airbox. Guess that's what it it's supposed to do.

Save yourself the trouble and use a stock air filter. There is no gain with the K&N and it does not filter nearly as well. Plus you have to clean and re-oil them. PITA for a gimmick part.

True story, but if I wanted gains, I'd just lose a 100 pounds. It would feel like a damn rocket ship. I imagine, because it sort of already does.
