A mate of mine has a 12 and he's thinking it needs to loose some weight.

Are there any easy weight loss ideas kicking around ?

We can do the usual , tool kit out, alloy/Ti bolts, 520 conversion etc.

I'm wondering more about specific ZX12 things ?

Thanks in advance

I doubt you would want to do the 520 conv. on the 12R. :dontknow: You could take the rear sets off, take one of the brake calipers and rotors off one-side of the front wheel, eat at Subway.

Why would anybody wanna do that???

for weight removal without spending big $$,
- replace stock rear plastics by an undertray (loose 2/3 Kg)
- remove passenger foot-pegs (loose 0,5-0,8 Kg)
- replace the bar weights by some delrin/abs plastic units (loose 0,5 Kg)
- use carbon rear and front fenders (loose 1 Kg)
- smaller/lighter mirrors (loose 1 Kg)

-Remove KLEEN air system
-180mm rear tire
-Remove rear pegs
-Remove mirrors
-Remove turn signals
-Remove mudflap (rear fender)
-Use less oil (1/8 inch showing in sight glass)
-Fiberglass bodywork w/o headlights (use small one)
-Aluminum rear sprocket (AFAM suggested)
-Lighter 530 chain
-Magnesium Wheels
-Titanium Rearsets
-DIET!!!! (cheapest and easiest weight loss)
-Run with 1/4 tank of gas

Don't remove/replace the barends, they act as stabilizers.. unless you have a steering damper, don't touch them.

Duh ?? since when loosing 50% of the braking capability is considered a smart thing?
I see your in Portugal and obviously not familiar with grudge racing. But around here most of your grudge bikes are trying to lose as much weight as possible. I've seen some bikes with no rear brake at all, no caliper or rotor and the front only had one caliper and rotor :eyecrazy: . But I can show you pic after pic of bikes with only one front caliper and rotor and for what you say :dontknow: , um to lose weight!!! http://www.mirockracing.com/gallery/2005/8rock/go1/dsc_0057.htm

These guys are straight liners. Drags, 9/10's ect. They have plenty of room to slow down.
