5.60s is not a problem, you could do that with a 40 shot and arm extensions.

A Garrett (or Turbonetics, or Precision) 50 trim TO4E / T3 stage 3 turbine is a popular, tough, and relatively cheap turbo that will spool quickly and still be able to make 400hp. You can find one online for $600.

If he wants a street/strip turbo, a Garrett GT28R ball bearing is a good choice. Little pricier, limited to maybe 325hp, but will spool a little quicker.

But if it's just drag, stick with a journal bearing T3/T4 hybrid. The ball bearing turbos are more touchy, and the center sections can't be rebuilt. If you hurt it, it's done.

good luck,
Dean

Like dean said but I am partial towards ballbearing turbos. They lite alot quicker and are more efficient. You can get the big 28's that flow over 400 but for a bike to run mid 5's that wont be needed. Make sure he understands how much its going to cost to build a turbo bike right the first time. There is alot to it where a shot of spray is cheap and easy. Also mid 5's isnt going to get you with a grudge bike to play with the big boys

yeah i put my stock motor 10 into the 5.5x's easy,i know whow to build a 10 for spray and motor...thats no issue.im def gona build it right,im not the type to build anything"cheap".man grudge racing has all kinda meaning...you can grudge race pit bikes...i know the level it takes to run with the big boys...there isnt that caliber of drag bike around here so mid 5's is perfect.i guess from what i read the cheaper turbo will work great for what were shooting for.well prolly build the engine first throughout the year and then get the electronics and turbo after.is this bike gona need a lockup?i want the boost to be managable, the only way you make clean passes is to have a good setup.if i can bring the boost on strong about the 330 without alot of clutch slip id be happy.i run low 5.5x's on my personal bike with a 40 shot and it seems to be just fine with some spacers.i still have a ton of ?? about this build cause ive never worked with turbos but im very open to opinon and guidance on this.ill worry with the details when i get started.thanks for the info guys
