So my other bike, Ducati monster 1000 ate up my rear tire in what seemed like 3k miles. I do ride pretty hard on it but the front still looks like it has atleast another 3-5k in it... Is it ok to throw on a different tire altogeth and leave the front. Maybe a metzeler M3, BT016 ect....

Im basically just looking to try a different (cheaper) rear tire on but dont want to upset the bike with a different profile tire....

Anyone try this? Whats your take on this?

What are some good online sites for cheap tires, I may just throw on another pilot 2ct but they seem pricey if just buying the rear....

lets leave price out of this cause how much would i really save

more so about the hassle of replacing the tire ect as I know a M3 would last alot longer

Pilot road 2ct

Well I got a little ahead of myself and found a thread on a vfr forum reading about the pilot power 2ct front and road 2ct rear with very good results. Also if anyone is looking for tires go to derbycycles.com I just ordered a road2ct rear for 175 shipped, tough to beat. Will post back with results in a week or so.

yeah I thought about running that same set up also on my 10 with the PP2ct up front and the Pilot Road2 in the rear but they dont make the rear in a 190/55 series, and I dont want to to go to the 190/50...
