I personally would move it the other way, to about a 60 degree angle. That way it would look good, be seen relatively well, (so the popo wont have a reason to pull you over) and serve as a mini mudflap. Don't know the enforcement rules in Maryland but in Texas if the LP can't be seen well it can be cited as a reason for a stop.
