Hey guys, haven't had much luck searching the Web so I thought I would ask here.

Gen4 stock tires (wanting to replace as I think they suck) I have about 3k on the bike thought I would ride it for a bit to get a feel for it before messing with stuff and it had been about 5 yrs since I had a Sportbike I've been riding cruisers and standards. Have been riding street for about 12 years.

I have noticed that when at faster speeds >60 the front Tire bounces when hitting bumps or cracks in the road. My preloaded was way off and I set my front and rear static and rider sag and that seemed to help quite a bit but it's still not right (rear shock sucks btw) Also when entering corners the bike initially goes in nice but then acts as if it still wants to fall in. I either have to counter it or be accelerating pretty hard to stop it.

Any thoughts? New Tires are coming soon along with a professional tune but in the mean time I'd like it to be a little more stable.

Rear tire pressure? Your weight? Sounds like you may have taken too much preload out of the rear but Im NOT BY ANY MEANS very knowlable on it. As Oxy said its best to find someone good to work with you on it if you can. Its not black art but a pro can be very helpful.

I'm running 32 rear, 36 front. I actually added preload to the rear as the rear spring is pretty weak. Static sag before I adjusted it was around 25mm it is now 10mm rider sag is 38mm. The front was the opposite static sag was about 10 and is now 27 with rider sag at 36. Those adjustments have helped out a bunch. I weigh 200 dry.

My biggest complaint is that the bike seems to want to continue to fall once I have entered a corner. Possibly due to the stock tire profiles or something else????

I just want it to stay where I put it without having to fight with it.

Thanks for the input much appreciated!!

Sounds very much like the setup tampazx was going for. Ping him, weight-wise you might be close as well.

...and yeah, the stock tires are tossers.

There was a thread not too long ago about that, the bike feeling like it kept wanting to fall in further mid corner. If I remember correctly the person swapped out their old tires for some quality new rubber and said that took care of it.

As Brian mentioned it could be the tires. But as twidget mentioned I would pm tampazx. Hes done alot of research with the gen 4 rear shock and can probably steer you in the right direction.

Thanks guys much appreciated! I've tweeked around a bit and it has helped tremendously but still not quite right. I will be changing tires soon they are about shot and see what difference that makes. Also headed to the tuners after that so it all should be well soon.

At least now is somewhat predictable so I should be good for a few more weeks!

I went through the same thing... I'm the same weight. I'd drop your front tire pressure a couple of psi and stiffen your sag up front and back again to around 32mm for both.

That made mine feel a lot better although the rear shock is still pretty shitty.
