Hey guys, im looking to finally get my bike tuned after going back and fourth on what i want to do with it for over a year now.. I picked up a multi hub and im looking to get the bike tuned on 89 for the street and MR12 for the strip. anyone have any other recommendations on fuel. Its stock engine just pretty much all bolt ons, ill be adding a bmc filter and short stacks too before the tune.

I've heard a lot of good things about MR12... hopefully Gaz will chime in on it. Just keep it sealed/fresh. :)

mr12 is the s--- throttle position tuned, and just s--- untuned. be sure to check can date, 6 mos about limit for max gains. u will be surprised at gains from 6k to rev limit. stock ignition timing best, advanced will not work with this fast burn fuel. both our tens made 10+ in midrange and 8 up top over custom tuned 89 pump gas. they just rip on mr12. let us know how u come out. done right, great power adder. best fuel period for ur bike racing.

I picked up 3mph on mr12 at the track over 87. 'Tuned' both via the autotune.

Just don't let it sit in the gas tank very long.

Thanks guys. The bike will be tuned by Schnitz and yeah I plan on getting a hand pump and draining the think every night after the track.

last 4 years ive left mr12 in tank 2-3 days at cup races with no problems. i do drain as soon as possible after use. i use a simple small clear hose tie wrapped to a piece of straightened coathanger that easily reaches back bottom of tank to siphon. clear lets u see fuel in line. i replace with pump gas, crank and idle a couple of minutes. mr12 exhaust has strong distinct smell, easy to determine when pump has flushed the system by exhaust. ryan will do u a good job. let us know how it comes out.

With a correct tune the MR12 will have power gains and also a nice smooth/consistent throttle feel. It was pointed out not to leave in the tank for long, and from my experience at the track you flush it out with pump after a race (especially if there is any epoxy in the head/etc, but you have stock motor so not as bad).

I just use a cheap hand pump (think it was $4 or less) from Home Depot that I used to get the gas out of the tank, worked really good for what it was.

I've heard that people have left it in the tank for a week with no problems and I'v also ready people have had problems leaving it in for just a night but I think there was other issues there. I left mine in over night with no ill effects that I can tell.

I'd just want to drain it as soon as you can and run pump gas through it. Like said MR12 has a very distinct smell and you can tell once the bike is running on mostly pump gas simply by the smell. I miss the smell of mr12, it's been a long winter!

thanks for the info guys, before i get it tuned anything else you guys would reccomend doing before hand, other than bmc filter. I have a flashed ecu (opens the secendaries, rev to 13.5k and no top speed limiter on the gen 3's), pcIII, full brocks alienhead, geared -1+4, and ill be giving it a fresh oil change. looked into all short stacks but it looked like a few people here didnt have good results with it.

short stacks are good if installed before tune. need pair valves disabled for accurate afr tuning. if bike makes power over 12500 on dyno might consider little lower gearing.

Gaz are you saying before I get it tuned I need to disable the valve or if I do all short stacks

BEFORE. needs to be done prior. just connect pair valves with hose/2 clamps. just stay with either set of stacks u tune with. ive no real preference for stk or short.

Ok I'll probably just stay with the factory set up. Any other advice? Servo eliminate, block off plates, any little things like that you reccomend

Block off plates is the same as $2.00 connecting hose/clamps.
If you're taking out the exhaust servo then might as well get the ZX10Archer flash since he provides the "plug" to cancel the fi light you get from taking out the servo. The flash in itself has some awesome benefits.

I just want to make sure I have it set up to get he most out of it before the tune so I don't have anything left after I would need to retune for..
