I've had problems with my bike slow starting, until eventually it just wouldn't start. I replaced the battery but still got the same problem. I traced the problem to the starter and when I stripped the starter, 5 of the 6 magnets in the starter motor casing was loose! This was drawing execessive current on start and frying the battery!

Anybody else have a similar experience?

hi my starters ok here...knock on wood but if i run into problems i'll post it here ...good ridin, and go kawi in the tt this weekend.

Man this seems to be common with these new starters. I JUST had my starter replaced in my 11 r1 because of this. Replace the starter.

boilovepho my magnets were fine, I just JB Welded them back in place and all's good thus far

I just now took mine apart and had the exact same problem, am wondering what would be a suitable way to adhere the magnets back down

Had the same problem and tried jb weld and it lasted for about 30 starts and it's [email protected]#$ed up again, I'm wondering what they use to stick them down from the factory?
