Hello all. I have a 2012 ZX10R ABS that suddenly has developed an issue with a speed sensor. When I ride the speedometer will jump around and the traction control will randomly fire causing light stuttering. The few times the F1 light came one with the blinking Traction controls it gave a flashing code of 24 then 27.
Code 24 is saying speed controller malfunction. I can't find anything for code 27. I have pulled the wheel sensors and they are clean. The wiring shows no damage. Any suggestions? Could it be a battery issue? It is an older battery, but it fires up. Bad ECU? Thanks for your help with this.

Code 24 is a rear wheel sensor malfunction
Code 27 is a front wheel sensor malfunction

The battery is only used for turning the starter motor over. It would have no bearing on the issue here. If the ECU is bad, the ECU is bad and you'll have catastrophic issues, not just individual wheel sensor issues.

Is it a KIBS bike or non-KIBS? Because that matters in how you diagnose it. But ultimately the sensors go to the ECU. What mods are done to the bike? What have you recently changed before this problem started? You either have a faulty ground, or the sensors/wiring are bad.

Then you likely have a bad ground point. Remove the fuel tank and make sure the chassis ground is tight. In fact, loosen it up a bit, clean the contacts good, and then screw it down tight again.

If that doesn't fix your issue, you're going to have to start checking wiring with a continuity meter.
