Well, as some or all may know, my bike was stolen, and in the process the fairigns became damaged, so, not wanting to pay OEM price I searched and concluded Auctmarts was probably OK to order from.

so far it has been 2 weeks and just today after 2 emails I received a reply. that reads as follows:

dearcustomer:

due to it is an expensive item and we must need more time to pack it, and also we have the inspection procedure before ship out, therefore take a little period to process it,

also we stored all the item in different location, that is the customer order and we arrange the fairing from the storage, and it must take time to do it,

and If you need the set urgent and I will hurry the process for you!

thanks

auctmarts

ok.. what does expense have to do with anything?

I figured it is their typical run around email. anyway figured I would post on the forum and keep it updated. as apparently the more you talk about your order, the more likely they are to put their butts in gear.

seriously they should consider a business consultant to streamline things, as well as set up an inventory system.

What I do when I can't ride is stop thinking about riding. After two days or so I actually stop thinking the bike and stop talking about the bike or even going to this site. Time goes fast. If my bike works good I would ride it. I have a few minor cracks now from hitting a few critters and had a crack in the right collar plastic day of delivery (dealer told me about that prior, so np) so cracks all over but looks great to me and rides fine so np.
yeah, of course that's just the run around email...don't expect anything less than a month!
it's gonna take between 4-6 weeks, but, you're not paying oem prices, so you're not gonna get it in 2 weeks ya know.

I've got auctmart fairings, and I've had mine for 5 years...bought them in March 2011...
they don't fit perfect, and they definitely don't go together like oem, but I also didn't pay a small fortune for them, so I'm happy with what I got. the paint wasn't perfect, but not bad for sub five hundred bucks. and I'll tell you what never once in 5 years did someone say "hey are those eBay fairings?"
I'm the only one that notices the imperfections, no one else ever has!

don't let anyone tell you what a mistake you made, you'll be happy that you didn't spend like $1500 on oem...will they be perfect? nope! are they a pain in the ass to put on? yep! will your bike look great? yep! will it perform any different with eBay fairings vs oem? nope!

I've had 2 sets of auctmarts on my old GSXR. LIke stayed above it does take about a month to get but these things come from China in a big box and they are packaged very well. Not saying it's really taking that long to package but atleast you know it won't show up with broken parts. I think you'll be happy with them when you get them there damn near oem quality. No one could ever tell they were aftermarket. And if they sound rude or just weird in emails. It's bc they don't speak English very well.
Update, so I sent them this email in response:

i asked for an update 1 week ago, and my first update request message is exactly 1 week and 3 days from order placement.

how expensive an item is should have no effect on shipping time if the inventory and boxing system is standardized.

for instance, I can order a computer from Dell that costs $2,000 USD, it will be boxed and shipped to my door in the same timeframe as a $300 USD computer. generally this is 4-5 business days from ship to receive

again cost had no factor in ship date or arrival time in my example.

Basically if your still painting the fairings and needing dry time just say so.

I don't like being told something that isn't true.

and this is the reply I got:

We are sorry for the confusion, fairing kit is paint to order and the paint job will take about 7-10 days, and shipping will take another 3-5 days. We will keep you posted once the fairing kit is shipped.

Once again, thanks for buying from us and we appreciate your patience.

followed by this one a short time later.

Dear customer,

My name is Ken,this is final confirmation. your item is now in the export department which means you will have your item in very short period of time, they are doing the final procedure before exporting, it is already here and waiting for the shipping company coming up to pick your item and process the export.

you must have the item really soon and we have already upgraded the shipping with faster services and you will have the tracking number within 48 hours!

If you have any question please kindly feel free to email me. Please kindly do not give us any bad rating and negative feedback against our account. Please kindly give us full 5 stars DSR rating.

Last but not least, we really hope that you can help to click "On Time Delivery" when you receive an email from eBay about the on-time shipping.

Thank you.

Best Regards,

Ken

I didn't ask for expedited shipping, just wanted to know what was ACTUALLY going on with the order and what stage it was in, but OK...

I guess now we will see what is really up in 48 hours.

although the funny thing is I ordered from their site directly, I didn't use ebay.

... not sure exactly what your trying to accomplish here, but this has nothing to do with a fairings order...

the bike is rideable, but I dont' feel confident taking it to a gas station with a busted ignition switch and leaving it to pay for the gas since I use cash most of the time.

i'm basically down to an upper triple clamp, and an ignition switch, and it will be 100% again. I am also rerouting the wiring from the previous owner to proper OEM routing. which also requires a lot of brackets that where missing.

as to the fairings condition, the upper right fairings is un-useable right now, and the middle fairing has a huge crack, and the lower fairing/belly pan is toast as well.

so again, I dont' understand your personal experience being interjected here.

Then I not even think about riding until I can ride. I wouldn't hassle a company; I wouldn't whine on the forum; I wouldn't even think about the bike until all came together. Then I would ride the crap outta the bike. I'm NOT telling YOU what to do, I expressing what I would do and that's exactly what I do as been there a lot.

Good luck with your bike.

What does your ignition switch have to do with with a fairings order?

Scout is just saying to chill out, in a Scout kind of way. I too don't understand why you are hassling these guys. I hope you get a big turd packaged up in the box with your damn fairings.
Yeah you ordered a large box of fragile parts from China -- its going to take a month or so for the boat ride to the states. If you don't have them in two months then you can start bitching!

well, For one, I was not bitching about the time, I was simply curious as to WHAT STEP IN THE PROCESS IT WAS AT, when I got the run around email, I simply called them out on it, and told them to just PLEASE BE HONEST. I didn't care if it was still in paint prep and unboxed or not. just say "it is still in prep for painting and waiting to be painted"

not that hard to do.

secondly, I didn't create the deadline, THEY DID.

on their own site it says 8-11 days to ship from date of order, DAYS not WEEKS.

I did NOT hold them up to this deadline THEY SET, I simply asked them where in the process is MY particular order? is it still beign melted down and injected into the molds? is it in paint prep? is it painted?
I don't know, but a little info on the process goes a LONG way.

I am also merely documenting my dialogue with them and the process from purchase to delivered at my door: to which I already have a tracking number now, so thanks for your pointless drivel. as well as the next item you order I also hope is a large steamy pile of excrement. would almost be like karma..

Now to address the "rideability issue" you can ride a bike without fairings, most streetfighter bikes have almost ZERO fairings aside from, the tail. and in regards to the ignition switch, that was nothing to do with fairings but to address rideability, which is I can still ride it, I could just fill up a gas can and fill up the tank at home and avoid the potential unattended bike issue, In fact I have rode it back and forth to work a few times already, as we have cameras and one way in and one way out, so less chance of theft.

as to everyone who seems to have the front forks of their bikes up their hind parts, stop stunting, and maybe you wouldn't have them shoved up there.

item received yesterday, pulled it all out, it all looks good, no broken tabs, got the free windshield, heat shielding and tank pad, so SUCK IT.
PICS or it never happened! Glad to hear they arrived safe. Auctmarts does make the best aftermarket fairings. I had a set on a 05 zx10 a few years ago. It fit really well except for the tail light tabs. The plastic is thicker and heavier so not everything fits exactly the same but its pretty close. Really good for the price.
I've ordered several fairings kits from china and there's no need in rushing the shipment. Like seriously, they're from china. Even once they send it of, it'll be "Posting" for days before you get an update and once it gets to the US, it goes through the same process. For the price you pay and the quality you get, it's worth the wait. I bought some aftermarket fairings for my gen 1 and they barely fit at all when I first installed them. I was going to do a write up on them and take pictures but I kept taking the bike apart due to other issues. Around my fourth time of taking the fairings on and off, they actually fit perfectly. I'm guessing they need the heat and constant pressure in order to fit right. I hear a lot of aftermarkets are like that. You install them, ride around a few days, take them off, install the next day, repeat. But yea, no need to rush it. When it comes to ordering ANYTHING from china, it's best not to track it. They'll let you know when tracking is available.
