I rode a friends 03 636 today and its a TON more fun to ride than any 10R I've ever been on. I've rode an 04 plenty and of course my 08, but neither even compares to the fun factor of that bike.

We were at the local 1/8th mile dragstrip - I made 2 passes on it. Its ALOT more fun to drag race with as well. Something about going wide open without doing warp speed and always shifting is alot of fun

All I know it has is a slipon and a 520 conversion with +2 rear.

With the 10R you do double the speed limit in first gear...so the other 5 gears are only to piss the cops off as my buddy likes to say.

I guess its like the old saying goes....its more fun to ride a slow bike fast, than a fast bike slow...

I'm 6'5 260 and I beg to differ, my wife has an 07 6r that is a good bike but holds nothing to the fun factor of the 10. It's a mint black one for 6k if you're interested LOL. They do corner well though

Hmmm, I 've had a 2 CBR600s, 2 ZX7Rs and a Duc 748, and while the smaller cc bikes are really really good on a super tight road or track and inspire confidence while going into a corner, the 10r gives me a face peeling smile when coming out of one

I know what your trying to say.

My wife had an 02 R6 when I had an 00 12R and I would rather drag race hers for sure. Especially bracket racing. Its just easier. More fun? Nah, I'm an adrenaline junky!

Then you will never understand because if you Drag Race a 10R especially a 1st Gen that bike is going to be hard as hell because of the short wheel base and massive power with the same weight of a 600cc bike.....what does that equate to?....one hell of a ride and much more fun requiring an increase of adrenaline...if you can ever make it out of 1st Gear. :cartwheel:

I will never want to drag a 600 if I want easy I would just extend my 10R If I wanted it to be more controlled.

3rd gen makes a bit more power and is still 600 sized - same difference.

Its a wee bit heavier but makes more power - probably real similar to one another.

Thats like saying racing a 07 GSX-R 1000 is harder than an 06 because it has two heavy exhaust cans making it more wheelie-prone than the single titanium 06. ;)

no the heavy part is not so much in factor because most remove the stock exhaust what I am saying the short wheel base and ease of ride depending on the weight and distribution compared to 1k and another the 1st Gen is has the fun factor not for time but adrenaline factor. At my track we have the Track worker that likes to ride every bike for newbs to show them how fast his bike will go....he ask if I wanted to let him run my 9R when I first went out there many years ago I said that's ok but thanks anyway

Anyway years later he admited the 1st Gen is the Funnest bike for the fun factor on the Strip..period. Some bikes are built perfect for the strip and some can handle it with practice. Just responding to a 600cc bike being fun stock over a 10R :headshake

I was just saying for bracket racing the 600's are easier.
Maybe my last post was misleading.

Well If we define "FuN" as in winning that's 2 different things. If we are talking Fun as I have a good bracket racing bike that's another thing. I will say though last year I made the semi finals of bracket racing on PRO ET..my competition...3 bikes all with wheelie bars **Edit or extended, the only stock bike my OLD ZX10R NO 600cc bikes or even close  and Won some $$ to boot

as much as I enjoy looking at the extended drag bikes,1000cc and above..
I never understood why people take a bike designed for a road course and drag it.I know "because you can"
My belief is the 10's abit to bulky on the road courses.Finicky throttle response. The 600 is the ultimate road course bike set-up properly.
To me a drag bike is strecthed out beyond 6 inches, wheelie bars, open ear shattering pipe, lowered and scary as hell to look at!Not a close to stock to look at 600 or 1000.
