hey, just put the slicks on my bike SC3 back SC2 front, hot pressure 35 psi. They slip very often... comparing to the bridgestone 002 2nd hardness compound.
Talked to the racers guys and they advised that the slicks are not that good on the 600. I know i have to learn to control the throtle a lot more, but anyone experienced those such things?
just an overall question. No spam answers pls (had enough of those on other forums!!)
thanks guys!

I ride a 2007 ZX6R and have tried the Michelin slicks.(sprint and trackday compounds) The first thing I noticed was how much heat these tires need to work well. Once up to temp(two laps with no warmers) they really hooked up well. They turn in so much better than the DOT race tires I have been using.

My only problem with them is at WSIR were I race, I am getting some tearing. I am pretty sure with the new rear shock I am installing next week I can sort it out.

SC3 in winter is a pretty hard tire by the way...good luck.

hey, i'm in Australia, its middle of summer temp ~ 31 degrees celc. (pretty cold this year!! ) I use tire warmers ~ 80 degrees celc. she had plenty of heat.
You see my friend runs exactly same bike as mine, and both of us jumped on the slicks, we were sliding a lot :(
thanks!
Edit: talked to my mate, and he recons the tires were still too cold! was cold morning and really hot afternoon :( (and no one runs SC3 on that track... only SC2 up) silly me!!!
thanks

i would have imagined the pressures need to be lower than 35. try 30 to start with. too high a pressure will not heat up enough.

slicks

If you are running the new Diablo Superbike slicks, the optimun tire pressures are 30 front 27 rear, Hot. Those numbers come from Pirelli. Works for me. I had some pretty slippery tires once, found they were 3 years old. Ceck date stamp on tires.

I would say drop the pressure a few psi. I was running bridgestone bt002rs tires a the track and had the same problem. While they are different tires i had the same symptoms. I dropped the pressure down and never had a problem since. I think I was down to 28psi cold. Drop the pressure ride it and see how it feels.
