For full acceleration at what rpm do you shift at on a stock '06 (no mapping or pc onboard) ? I don t think my -1 f makes a diff where to shift since HP and Torque curves don t change. do you use your shift light?

this must have been talked about before, I couldn t find it though.

on the 06 the shift light is completely useless. Its hardly even noticable.

But I do set it.

Shift the 06 stock or mildly modded at 13000, right on. The limiter kicks in just past 13000.

I set the shift light at around 12750, to provide just enough time for reaction to make 13000, that is if I actually see the light.

Just sold a 06 BTW, had it from bone stock to fairly modified.

shift right before 13000rpm, 12000 is to early for full acceleration, you have 13000rpm so use them, shifting to low will slow your momentum. you want the bike to rev past the peek horsepower so when you shift the rpm drop just below peek hp. i would say 12800rpm.

Your max power is rarely redline on a stock bike. If you review Ivan's Dyno runs for a stock 06, you will see that the graph goes flat just before 12k. Once the chart goes flat your pissing in the wind.

If this is your first track day, shift points is the last thing you need to be worried about. At most tracks, put it in third gear and forget about shifting.

Once you master basics like body position, consistent breaking points, holding the race line and etc. Then you can start adding worrying about shift points.

Yeah, it depends largely on the torque curve. For a base '06 with 16T front sprocket, here is what the calc is reading.

Your Optimum Shift RPM!:1st to 2nd 12,345 2nd to 3rd 12,107

3rd to 4th 12,248 4th to 5th 12,001 5th to 6th 11,451
