Rear axle left side diameter size

New member here and this is my first post. Happy to join the family here.

I bought a 2013 ZX10R Track bike from a good friend of mine last week. I ordered the new pit bull restraint pin set so I could use it while I haul the bike to the track. Unfortunately, I was surprised that the size of the left pin doesn't fit my axle! Right one fits fine (The bigger of the 2 in diameter) The previous owner swears that the bike still has the stock axle..yet it doesn't add up.
When I called pit bull, they said that what I got which is left pin with 14mil is the right size. Considering Pit bull has been probably shipping these forever, I am more inclined to believe them more (sorry bud).

Pin size that I received is 14mil
diameter size on my axle is 16.5mil

Can someone measure and tell me what is the size of the stock axle??

2 options I got at this time:
1. Send my axle to pit bull and ask them to make customer pins - Cost ~150
2. Order stock axle off of ebay - ~$20

Appreciate your help in advance.

....if you cover shipping both ways and a 12 pack of quality beverage I'll turn you up a pin out of steel or aluminum (your choice). Turn around time would be about a day, two tops. I'd need the pin(s) and the axle in my hand, though.... but shipping to southern AZ from where you are should be pretty quick.
I plan on getting out in the garage tonight and I'll take some measurements for ya of both the axle and the pitbull pins I have that work for me and the 2 other gen 4 zx10's they've been use on.

^This guy for president!
I think I put my axle in different than most but the smaller side of my axle was about 14.5mm and the pitbull pin was 14.3mm

What a generous offer! Really appreciate it. I am already leaning towards ordering a new stock axle off of ebay. Again, u got a great heart brother...Thanks once again.

Seems weird somebody would change it, wonder why? I'll have to snap a picture when I walk back out in the garage and we can see if yours looks like mine.

What my axle and axle pin look like on my 2012. I believe the 2 other buddies bikes I've used the pin kit on have been a 13 and a '14 and both seemed to work without any issues.

...it is weird that someone would change it, but stranger things happen.

If you get in a bind the offer stands (haha)... once you lathe (hammer), all your problems start to look like billet (nails). ;)
Here the my pics...Still cant believe why anyone would change the stock axle. This is just weird.

Only thing I can think of is that I have the Fast Franks Captive spacers and Fast Franks brake caliper retainers. Not sure if he had to swap the axle to accommodate those...

I'm not sure how the Pitbull works but could it have something to do with the way your axle has been fitted now with the nut on the disc side as opposed to the sprocket side(standard)

Hi did you sort your axle problem out?I checked the inside diameter of my rear axle and I doubt very much your axle has been changed!what has been changed from the oem set up is the side the axle nut is on!can you let me no if it's sorted please thank you

Yes! It is sorted. Kinda feel stupid about how it was solved:rolleyes:

So I was at the track and one of my fellow instructors who rides the same 2013 ZX10R and uses pitbull to secure in his trailer.
Long story short, the pins are the same, and the axle is stock! If you just insert the pin without the pitbull restraint stand along with it, it looks like a total mismatch. But, when you hook it up along with the restraint on to the trailer with the same pins, it fits fine. Yea...guess this is why I am a software engineer and not a mechanical engineer..
