I had to go to a muffler shop with my zx6r setup, my MJS midpipe didn't fit with my akra slip on, they were same diameter if i remember, i would bring that midpipe to open it a bit , just ask the guy to be carefull to not open it too much. cost me like 3$.

Just a thought, is the rear graphite gasket (on the CAT) a different size than the inlet one(by the headers)?? I ask because I assumed they were the same and used the inlet gasket on what is now the outlet of the akra.

Yes they are two different sizes. From what it looks like you are Just missing the gasket to slide on the inside of the R77d then the Akra Link pipe will slide inside with a tight fit. But have to use the gasket thats on the rear of the cat.
