Right now I have the yoshi r77-d 3/4 exhaust http://www.yoshimura-rd.com/ps-4599-1830-r-77d-stainlesscarbon-34-system.aspx

I am debating switching to brocks, the bike only made 177 on the dyno. The shop guy keeps telling me I can for sure get close if not into 190 with brocks and a few other people are saying the link pipe is really hurting power. Only thing is I really like the look of the slip on  but if i can get into 190 it'd be worth losing that lol.

When I was at tx2k13 I met a guy that has full brocks and is making over 190 aswell. If it is only a few hp gain it won't be worth it to me but if it's a substantial gain then yes.

Or the other option would be to try and find a different link pipe to get rid of the twisty bendy thing, no idea what the point of it is anyways, if that'd get any gains instead of brocks because frankly I don't much like the look of brocks anything for exhaust and the yoshi carbon fiber looks really nice on the black bike.

Or I also have nitrous for more power when I want it, but that's a hassle I don't like using it, wheelies to much and it's funner to troll people n/a. Kinda wasted my money there unless I stretch.

The twisty bendy thing is there to build some bottom end/mid range back into the gen 4. The gen 4 is a very top end bike and needs fatening up in the rest of the rev range. I have the R77d 4/3 and love it. But I also have a Euro spec bike and make more power than the US spec bikes.

I had a Brocks slipon Alien head and it made 180 hp in 95 degree heat. I'm actually selling.. Check it out if interested. I have a stubby graves one on their now. No real performance difference. Just like the look abit better.

Isn't Brocks more used for drag bikes? I don't think i have ever seen one up close and personal on a regular street bike. Aren't they meant to be louder than hell? I mean the LOR pipe i have is stupid loud, and for some reason i imagine the Brocks is louder.

Are you using the quiet insert with the yosh pipe?
On the R77 D there isn't an option for a quiet insert. It's a fairly relaxed pipe, very muted. The Yoshi R77 (no "D) does allow for a quiet insert.

Yoshi

Keep the can and buy an Akrapovic or Leo vince link pipe. Not expensive and more direct. I have the Leo Vice link pipe which has a small resonator on it. The Akrapovic is straight through. That will get it singing:)

I have the Akro can and mid pipe on my race bike. It is loud as hell. I just bought the r77 (not dual opening) and need to use it for one of the tracks we race on due to sound regulations. Hoping it is somewhat comparible to the akra

You'll likely be waiting a few weeks if you order a Brock's pipe. My friend ordered one and won't stop bitching about how long it's taking to get to him.

The Alienhead on the Gen4 seems like it will easily make contact with your heel. Not a fan at all.

Lol cause my buddy claims ill make a lot more hp but they do look so god dang ugly! I think I may just get a link pipe I mainly only do roll racing lol and I don't much like the loopy twisty thingy. And the brocks does look like it'd heat the eff outta your foot too =/ I don't really want a insanely loud bike, which is odd cause I want my vette to be so loud I can't think and my old truck was loud too haha.

Maybe ill try to con him into getting one in stock and if it makes more power buy it lol. The r77d just looks so amazing and flows great with the bike.

All dyno's read different I wouldnt focus on the peak number as much. My bike put 171hp down on guhls dyno and he said thats what he is seeing from the gen4s. He said if it was on brocks dyno it would be 187ish

You will not gain 13whp by switching to a Brocks. Not even close. In fact I bet you might only gain a couple whp difference which is negligible unless done back to back. I don't know what the guys at that shop are thinking by saying you are losing that much with the Yosh system. The biggest restriction is with the CAT.

I plan on doing a back to back test with the Yosh R77D and Akra link pipe when the snow clears up, which will hopefully be by the end of April.

I was going to say the same thing about the Yosh. Especially with that twisty piping under the middle of the bike, and that can is huge. The Brock's alienhead looks great on my bike, saves a good amount of weight, and has been proven to make great power. I guess everyone has different opinions.

IMHO, if I would go to the drag strip all the time, Brock's would be my choice; but for street/twisty track, I would stay with Yosh
