hey im a fairly new rider and new to the site. i just purchased a 2006 zx10r that has already been lowered and extended 9 inches. thankfully it has swingarm extensions so they can be taken off because now im ready to hit up some turns. im looking into doing some track riding next season but im still gonna be on the streets too so my question is what is the best height i can set my bike at so i dont have to be scared taking turns at 100 plus mph. right now the back is lowered 4 inches and the front is about a inch and a half. should i just raise the bike back to stock hieght? maybe keep the front down alittle bit? help me out. also im only about 140lbs. what is the best setting i can do my suspension at for my weight so i dont have to be worried. thanks alot guy and girls.

Start off by raising it back up to stock height, then spend the $100 to get the suspension set up for you.

And ditch the swingarm extensions. Putting it all back to stock configuration will be the first step ...

posting at the same time here. If the rear is lowered by 4 inches (!) you will have to find out how they did it. If they did it by altering the linkage arms, you need to put those back to stock configuration. If it was done by replacing the shock, then you need to find out what's the deal with the shock. It may be good, or it might not be.

the extensions are definetly coming right off. and the bike was lowered with the linkage so it shouldnt be that much of a pain to raise it back up. any more help with the suspension and tires?

I run Michelin Pilot Power 2 CT tires and love them. A lot of people run them. Another favorite tire is the Pirelli DCIII. It really is a matter of preference and you will get differing opinions on the tire issue so you will need to do a bit of reading to figure out what you want.

yeah one of my buddys is a bike mechanic and said he LOVES those pilot powers. he said literally every single one hes ever put on a rim slides right on like butter and thats it. never has to mess around with them or force them to want to go on. im thinking about picking up a set of them pretty soon

Do you know if these extensions will fit the first Gen? I have an 05 and am interested in stretching it a bit. I am on my Blackberry and my screen is too small to do a search on...that is, if you would like to sale them...?
