Does anyone know if you can change software on one to make it a normal power commander? Guy wants $100 with a werkes slip on that has a ding from I’m guessing him going down.high temp powder coat or something will take care of the ding lol. Also I’m under the assumption that gen 2/3 interchange power commanders.

Regarding gen 2/3, you can use a gen 3 pcv on your gen 2. I am. The main difference, which doesn`t matter, is a hard-coded model number meaning you can not load a predefined gen 2 pcv map in the gen 3 unit directly. (without copying via excel or similar)

Well I won’t really need a predefined map I suppose. Secondaries removed, 45mm headgasket, gen 1 race cam, custom made exhaust from boz bros race header etc. and I saw guys converting maps over. Is the California model worth a damn to buy that cheap?

Yes, you need a custom map. Don`t know the exact restrictions in the ex version but I think the lower rpm/throttle position part of the map is not editable. I would go with something else, even if its cheap.

That’s what I was thinking as well. It’s under 4K and less then 15%throttle that is undesirable. I currently have a LP Dynatek Fuel controller which has 12 different maps and 20% fuel control low mid and high rpm adjustable potentiometers. All in all does the same as a power commander but to piggyback the signal and change it in 250rpm increments, power commander can fine tune better.
