Power commander or save your money

I haven't really been into many engine mods. Always have been more of a chrome and length guy. I still love the twisties so my question is..

I've got an 05 with my cylinders bored, K&N filter and slip on Yosh exhaust. My question is what a power commander will really do for me. Is it worth buying one? am I gonna have to buy something for fuel mapping? and how much can i expect everything to run..

Are there any regrets from people who do buy'em?:dontknow:

You will only regret it if you don't tune it. Basically, even stock your bike has a little left on the table due to safety and regulations, but it for the most part runs really well with the components it has in place. As you change things that alter the bikes capability of flowing air in and out of the motor, you make these base calibrations farther and farther out of whack. If your motor truly is overbored I think you would be crazy not to run a custom-tuned Power Commander, as your engines fueling needs would be drastically different than that of a stock bike. Without a Power Commander in place your bike at best will run like crap, and at worse could grenade.

WRONG, a pc will help regardless if you have a slip on or full system, I will say it like this you either want every ounce of power out of your bike or you dont. I want ever ounce of power my bike can put out so I have a pc ect.

I think it's fine. theres not really much torque until you get to around 6k for rpms. The reason I have it is I was looking for things to do that I could hide from my insurance. Nothing to noticeable if the bike went down. But once I started putting chrome on I didn't want to stop.

Anyhow the guy has been doing spotty work so i stopped going to him. Think I got dupped?

what dude did spotty work.. your chrome guy or your bore guy?!?!?!?

you have a slip, get a PC. infact, get a Timing Retard Eliminator. TRE's change how much throttle your puter lets your bike get. buy a new TRE and a used PC3.... 60$ TRE changes your low end torque so so much. and.... well alot cheaper than a bore job..

What did you pay for the bore job? What CC is it now? Did he even mention Nikasil?
