The sensor on the front of the head/valve cover is the cam position sensor. The wires should run across the valve cover (to the left) and plug into the appropriate plug on the ignition side of the harness.
The other does indeed look like a ground ; it uses the same bolt as the other grounds shown in your picture. You should be able to visually trace it back to the - battery post, or use a voltmeter to do a continuity test to verify.
