So I put Engine Ice in my bike and it runs cooler. However when I pull into my garage, and turn the engine off...with the key on...the temperature rises dramatically....seems like it's much quicker and higher than before. Is this normal? The fan stays on.
That's normal. The coolant isn't flowing unless the water pump is turning. With the engine off it is basically just indicating a hot spot. Doesn't matter if the fan is running or not because that's only pulling air over the radiator cooling the liquid in there. That's not where the temp sensor is.

Can't imagine RO is difficult to get over in the states, as a back up pretty much any decent salt water aquarist outlet will supply as much RO as you need as they usually have extensive RO systems in the back shop working away constantly.

I kept marine for years and was just too lazy to get an RO system plumbed into my gaff so just took my 10 gallon containers to my LFS and filled them up there.
