What's up guys? Schooley checking in!

New to this site but not new to forums or bikes. Frequent the ZX6R forum so I am not sure if trackdayhero or any other zx6r.com guys are around.

Anyway, just put a deposit down on a 17 ABS model. I gotta say I am looking forward to getting out on this bike and getting it in it's natural habitat (the track). I wont ride street much, I haven't been on the road for years and up until recently had a track only bike. I am looking forward to learning as much about the 10r as I have with its little brother. By the way, what is the easiest way to set up the gen 5 for GP shift? I have seen the "dirty" mod thread, is there a "clean" mod thread around?? :biggrin:

Also, not sure what to do on the exhaust end of things.. I have always loved the racefits on the 6r, but settled for M4 for the past few bikes I have owned. I may just ride with the stock exhaust until after the first few hundred miles and maybe the decision will come to me later.

Take it easy fellas, I will get some pics of the bike when I pick it up. A fellow zx6r.com user hooked me up with a good deal on a unit he ordered for me straight from the warehouse in Dallas. Should be picking it up next week. Here are some pics of my previous bikes to hold you guys over:

Welcome to the forum. I went with the Graves mid pipe and can, headers on these bikes are pretty decent so wasn't worth the extra $$ for me at this point. If you flash the ECU, the Graves maps are awesome - according to Mike Canfield, better than he can get on a dyno, so that saves you several hundred right there! Definitely had to respring the bike though, should have done that WAY sooner. Front was ridiculously stiff (like, I was getting the rear wheel in the air and still had a good 2+ inches of fork travel available), and at my size, the rear was too.

I'm still pretty slow on mine, but hoping the time I'm taking to get to know it will pay off as things come together.

Although I haven't ridden the bike yet I am leaning towards getting the suspension setup before flashing the ECU. I am very curious to feel these RS10's. I loved the R10's on my 6r.

I will look at the graves pipes and see if I can pull up some sound clips.

She's home! Time to get a fender eliminator and adjust the shift linkage/levers to fit me better. I was giggling like a girl every time i opened her up on the way home from the dealer.
