Let me just say upfront for all the smartasses, save it. If you're not here to help go back to your porn.
I have a 2004 ZX-10R.
Yeah, yeah, I know. I should know how to do these things by now but, I've always played it safe, saved my time and taken it to the shop. My bike has to be shipped tomorrow and they require that I drain the gas and oil. Anybody know where I can get this info with pics?

Oil is easy. Remove the lower fairing and then remove the drain plug. You will also have to take off the oil filter, they hold oil. You will probably need a filter socket to get it off since they are usually hard to get of using you hand.

To empty the tank I would try to sifen out the gas or remove the tank and dump it out :dontknow:

not sure if there's how to's on it but you can check the performance and tech sections to see.

Thanks to you that tried to help. Found a tech manual in the "performance and tech" section. Imagine that, huh. I had tried a search before I started the thread so I didn't get blasted right away. Didn't come up with anything that looked like it would help.
I got lucky with the oil filter. Last oil change I had the shop put a K&N on it. Already had a "nut" on the end. I replaced it with the same. I think I'll keep it that way for simplicity. Got the filter and plug back on then torqued to specs, thanks to the manual again.
For the gas I got one of those little hand siphon pumps normally used for filling kerosene heaters. Worked great but left a little in the bottom. Was thinking about trying to get by with what was in there but then I remembered I had to disconnect the battery too. That was when the fun started.
Back to the manual. Referenced electrical section, found the part about the battery, which told me to remove the seat by referencing the frame section. Found a bungienet under the back seat that I had been wondering where the hell it had gone. Those of you that have removed the battery know you have to take the tank off too. Well, I figured out how to disconnect the tank and drain it completely. Before I was done I had my bike in pieces, wondering if I'd get it back together and started to think I might have to ship it as is.
Thank goodness I got it all back together and wiped it down with mix of Purple Power and water. The bike looks great but hopefully I diluted it enough not to damage the paint job. Let's just say, before I started wiping down the bike I had paint on my hands from respraying the bottom fairings while I had them off anyway. By the time I was done, my hands were spotless.
Hope my story has been entertaining to someone and I'll try to let you know what the paint looks like when I get it back.

What they said so far. As for the gas, I just emptied 3 of my bikes for storage. I went and bought one of the hand pumps used for the kerosene heater and pumped all the gas out and then after I couldn't get anymore I started my bike and ran it until it sputtered. You can get one of these from Wal Mart for 3 dollars.

Uhm, Jb, that post about how I did it is, well, how I did it. Job done. And, yes, I used one of those pumps.

Alien, Purple Power is an all purpose cleaner you can get at Walmart or Advance Auto. Strong stuff. On the label it gives you mix ratios for cleaning different things and says specifically not to use on the exterior of a car, LOL. I've seen it used on cars all the time at a dealer and no damage yet. To give you an idea, it's stronger than bug-n-tar remover.

Well, the movers came and went today, and left my bike. Idiots sent the truck they needed on another run. I had to trailer it to their warehouse myself so they could crate and ship it. Like an idiot myself, I didn't actually watch them put it in a crate so I might not even have a motorcycle anymore. On a plus side, they didn't anotate any damage therefore saying that I gave them a perfect bike. Hmm, New paint job maybe?
