Hi all,

Let me set the challenge - I'm entering the Raid De Himalaya and building a buggy to do it in. I bought a 2009 low mileage ZX10r European Spec engine complete with everything, including the clock and keys...I'll be racing at 20,000ft. I need:

Torque
Max 120 mph top speed (assume rear wheel rolling distance remains same as standard bike)
Reliability - strongest chain and sprockets I can get
Has anyone turbo charged this engine and what where the costs/gains

It is all standard at the moment, but I'm free to make any mods, happy to spend up to $2,000, but not willing to compromise reliability.

Would REALLY welcome your input and thoughts - Tom

16F/50R sprockets, use an EK ZZZ chain in 530 pitch.
Can run a turbo on these motors for 5 PSI without building the internal or compromising reliability, but if youre going to beat on it, you probably should build it to handle it.

Thanks for the great info. EK ZZZ Chain and 530 pitch it will be then.

Going to try and resist the turbo. If I can get the final drive to where it needs to be, it will give me the low down pull.

Still have concerns on engine breathing at that Altitude though and have no idea of the kind of power loss to expect. I don't want it to drop much below 125 BHP and I just don't think it is going to get the air it needs to achieve that.

Anyone got a good call on what the best air filter is? Removing the cat worthwhile?
