OK here is the deal:
I have a ZX10r, 2004 which has a Factory Pro Evo Shift Star Kit on it. Last week installed a gear indicator (plug & play version) and speedo-healer (plug & play version). Noticed after installing all the electronics I can’t make the bike to stay on neutral. I have to force the shifter to stay on neutral with the clutch engaged. As soon as I let go the clutch, bike will die and my gear indicator jumps from (neutral) 0 to 1st or 2nd gear. Tried to disconnect the gear indicator and still can’t get the bike to stay in neutral.
I know is not the Shit kit since it was working fine before with no problem at all. I spoke with couple of guys about this issue. One told me; my clutch plates were dry which prevented the foot ever to stay in neutral causing the bike to shut off. Other one told me; was my neutral switch sensor is gone bad and needs to be replaced.
I am tempted to rip everything apart by removing both the gear indicator and speedo-healer to see what happens. If they were not the problem then how do I check to make sure neutral switch sensor is working OK? Second, how I check to make sure the clutch plates are not dry?
This is driving me crazy and I can’t figure it out. Want to go on a ride but can’t get this damn thing to work. :angryfire :BangHead: :BangHead:
Note I don’t get any smoke coming out of the exhaust or nasty metal rubbing sound to indicate somehow the plates are dry.
Sure appreciate any help you guys can provide. Thanks fellows!:ayyy::ayyy:
