Ok, so my bike has 35k miles, it's a 2007 and from what I've heard these are notorious for the CCT 's going out. The bike is louder than its been recently and I've tracked down the noise to the CCT. I've heard that a manual CCT fixes this issue. My question is, do I simply advance the motor to top dead center via the cover on the side of the motor and install a manual CCT or do I need to pull the valve cover, replace the valve cover gasket and all that jazz? If someone who's done this could chime in I would really appreciate it. :)

Install the manual CCT finger tight (the actual chain tensioner not the mounting bolts) and then start the bike, turn it in until the motor is quiet. If it starts to get a whistle/whirring noise it's too tight. It's pretty basic and these are the directions from APE that I've used.

Thanks! Did you just pull out the OEM CCT and install the APE one or did you take the valve cover off, advance the motor etc
