May want to add what year bike you have as it will change the answer.
Greetings,
Here's a question for the tech-oriented crowd: How much of the mid-range dip is due to software settings to clear emissions and noise legislation (which can be gotten rid of through an effective flash) and how much is due to physical limitations of the exhaust system?
The reason I'm asking is that I'd like to retain my stock headers, and the cat also (but mostly for keeping noise down to non-obnoxious levels), but would still like to try to get some more midrange power (among other general fixes) through a flash. Is this reasonable or would I be wasting time and money try to do this without ditching my cat (and possibly the stock headers)? I've tried to search around a bit online, but the dyno charts I've seen aren't necessarily informative regarding the mods done to achieve them.
Thanks very much for your knowledge.
