I need to take off the rear master cylinder because I'm going to have it painted, among other things on monday. Never messed with brakes before. What steps do I do to have minimal mess? I think I'm going to just have it put back on at a dealer with a carbon/stainless line because I've heard it's a pain. Would it be tough for me to reconnect everything? I'm pretty good with tools, in that I do all regular maintanence myself.

thanks for the help!

while I'm asking too, anyone happen to know what size rivets are used on the AKRA exhaust? I'm going to have the silver bands and the metal piece that is at the end of the sleeve that bolts to the piping painted as well...

should I be able to find black rivets?

It's really easy.

1st remove the brake fluid by "bleeding" from the nipple(s) at brake.
Then remove MC.

Install is easy, just have to bleed the brakes which is real easy with a mighty vac.

Other than that, just don't overtighten anything (strip threads or brake the banjo bolt) or over-crush the crushwashers.
