I have a set of Lightech adjusters for my 2016 Gen5.

Before I start, do I have to get a difference Castle Nut to install this? There is no mention of it in the paperwork.

Perfect! Thanks!

PS, do you still use the stock washer behind the Castle nut?
You can't use the washer it won't allow the nut to fit. Also, I think the stock nut will scratch the numbers off (or maybe that was the stock washer) - make sure you check that.

You should by an aftermarket castle nut that has a washer fabricated in the cast on the inside (the part of the nut that screws on first), if you know what i mean. You want that washer side so that the nut can be properly seated and torqued.

Lots of places sell those anodized aluminum nuts, that should work - just make sure you get the right size of course. I forget what kind I have but mine is titanium, and is thinner than the stock. Looks to be the same thickness as those anodized ones.

Wow, that titanium nut is triiiiick! So cool!
Yeah it is pretty cool, very happy with it, but for 90 bucks plus the cost of those chain adjusters (in total over 300 dollars), it's a pretty expensive mod that frankly I wish I didn't do, and used the money elsewhere.

But all in all it does look pretty cool, and they definitely work. Bonus too is that when you loosen or tighten the nut, the axle stays in place, unlike the stock adjusters that allow the axle to slide backwards.

I assume you talked to a salesman who doesn't know what you're talking about haha. That's for a swingarm front axle nut. Totally different specs.
OEM rear axle nut: 32mm socket, 24mm thread dia, 1.5mm thread pitch
ProBolt rear axle nut: 32mm socket, 24mm thread dia.. and so on.
Titanium Axle Nut Rear Wheel
Thanks for confirming...'cause that is what I ordered! :)

I've got the pro-bolt axle nut and a few other goodies myself. The one I linked is the one I bought. Perfect fit!
Or as Cycle Cruiser says: JUST LIKE OEM!!! (1,000 times)

If my bike wasn't at the tuners right now I would be able to show off the swag

I checked the Microfiche, and the Gen5 rear axle castle nut is listed as an M24

OMG I think I just had an accident in my pants. First off the trick titanium one on the first page and now that super cool looking rainbow anodized one from Pro-Bolt. Titanium porn!

Man oh man, I wish these were required upgrades so I could excuse the need to buy one. lol

Is the cotter pin absolutely required? I did a rear tire swap on a Triumph 675 awhile back and it didn't have a secured nut. Just a big nut is all. Do we have a pin because we're riding liter engines and smaller bikes don't require them?
