I did a search for this but didnt come up with much. Whats the best RPM and technique to come out of the hole with a stock wheel bsase 08 10R. I read somewhere 6500 and feather it out but that seamed high. I want to run the bike but have never tried a bike just a car. Think I might start out with the ZRX1200 till I get the hang of it for the 10R. Me and another guy from the forum went out to the track last night, he made his first pass on his 08 10r and went 11.62 at i think 123mph. I just dont want to look like an ass the first time out there. Both of us want to go back out and try it again we just need a little guidance. :dontknow:

Thanks for your HELP!!

You need to be 6000-7000 and basically go full throttle out of the hole and feather the clutch to keep the front wheel on the ground.

So on a hydraulic clutch like the ZRX1200 has how do you feather it. Its either there or not. I wonder what RPM i should launch that bike at? It makes a lot of TQ on the low end.

Well here is pics of ZRX10r's bike and mine. And my pathetic time slip (but I still won) I came out the hole at a little above 2k and didn't WOT 1st. I didn't even take 1st to shift light (12K). I did shift light 2nd and made it to third but let off too early (maybe 50-100 ft. before final trap). This was my first time on a bike at the strip. My bike's temp was around 207 (at launch) since we just got there and there was a slow pace to the staging point.

1. lower the bike (front strap about 30 bucks)brocks sells them 2. gear most do -1/+1 on the 08's 6000 or 7000 is a little high only leads to more clutch control 4000 to 5000 less wheelie get to wide open a little sooner 3. the zx12 and the 10r are 2 different bikes nothing alike when it comes to getting it out the hole 4. seat time and more seat time a 60ft time on a swb should be 1.60 to 1.69 just my .02 cent i was able to run a 9.79 at 147 mph 1.68 60ft leaving at 4500 rpm but im lowred front and back with -1/+ 1 w/pipe and pc ,remember the 08's have a little more gear than the 07 ...........................seat time just my .02 cent

Short shifting the bike is absolutely killing your MPH. I weigh 300lbs in street clothes and I run 138mph on my SWB 08.

Even in 2nd, shifting at 12k is killing you. Peak power is at 12,500ish so you want to shift right at 13k to keep it near peak power. Running 138mph in the 1/4 I am at about 13,100 RPM in 3rd gear as I pass the traps.

My personal best is 10.8 @ 138 and thats a stock bike just lowered in the rear and strapped in the front. That pass was a 1.98 60' as well.
