I installed a PCIII on my bike. I followed the instructions and I am a VERY mechanically inclined person. The bike starts up and runs fine but when you ride it it won't rev over 3k rpms and if you twist the throttle all the way (wide open throttle) it just dies. It will ride just fine below 3k rpms and anything below half throttle.

Any ideas what might be causing this?

wow, really? you will need a map if you dont already have one on it. did you cut anything on your wire harness? Maybe blew something, wish I had a answer for that. Good luck, never heard of something like this. My nexted random question is on the side can you still turn your idle all the way up past 3000 rpm's with out it dieing or anything?

Try removing the pciii. Could be a bad one.

Make sure you have plugged it into the right conector - the PCIII will also fit into the connectors NEXT to the TPS connector and will give you those symptoms.
Its the BIG BROWN connector at the BOTTOM RIGHT of the REAR of the AIRBOX.
