Cold say the same about your avatar :p gotta love black ninjas.
I only wish mine looked as good up close as she does from a distance. She kinda shows her ages in a couple of spots, not even gonna lie.
How was the bike before the steering damper?
Always had it so I couldn't tell you and I'm not willing to try riding without it :p
One thing I can tell you: a few months back I started gaining a bit of experience and I've been getting faster. The result was the front wheel was always hovering the asphalt during hard acceleration and the front was very nervous and twitchy. I could feel the front wheel wanting to tank slap and twitching partially due to the fact that I was probably holding on to the clipons a bit too hard. I adjusted the ohlins steering damper by 2-3 clicks making it stiffer and the front has been noticeably more stable ever since.
What TRE do you have btw? I have the healtech GiPro gear indicator with TRE set on 7 (making the bike always thinks it's in neutral). I notice a bit more torque down low, bike seems to rev up quicker and the throttle is more responsive when blipping for downshift but I notice no changes to the throttle on/off (I don't mind it tbh).

It was already on the bike when I bought it
But i can tell you i once turned the Dial down and i forgot to put it back when moving the bike out
Well to keep it short
It wanted to tank slap on a straight road when pinned luckily that the damper did some thing when turned down or i properly be dead now don't want to know what could've happen without one installed

I think i bought one from Australia on Ebay it did wonders with the On/Off
Had a gear indicator from China but that don't work with TRE so i pulled it off
It pulls and it pulls in every gear i also changed the GPS put one in from a 06-07 and a little ball bearing for ground but that was after i put the TRE in so i don't know how the bike would behave without the TRE with this mod
I know before it'll send false gear position to ecu then I installed TRE no more issues before it would pull won't pull it was Fcked up riding like this Though it was me being Paranoid

This is the one I have

Nice list of mods, a buddy of mine has a GEN 2, i like the first 2 GEN's
I've done the GPS fix with the bearing ball too. It works great, gear indicator is always correct now.
I don't have a gear indicator, not a big deal to me really

If the bike wants to tank slap with wheel on the ground throttle pinned you probably have a suspension set-up or tire issue. Remember steering dampers just mask set-up issues, they're really only there for setting down a wheelie etc

I've been well over 120 on my bike with no steering damper and no issue at all
hello and welcome. Need better photo.

I should have mentioned that I was in the middle of the road were the white lines where 2 pair of lines in the middle of the road it's a piece of road where i often pin it.
It happened when crossing the lines even with Damper put on stiff it tries to shake on that piece of road, that day i forgot Damper Shit Myself But i Kept it Pinned All well End's Well

Nice i always wondered:unsure:
I don't think I will ever know
How it is now I'm gonna keep it as is
Runs great now
Also I have extended my chain with 1 or 2 links so back wheel is as far back as possible that did help a bit keeping the front wheel down
I also tried the 6r dog bones and knuckle but that just messed up the ride height and high speed Damping it was nice when going slow not bouncing around allover
I had shim the shock to get ride height back but no it was no it was crap so i swapped it out back
Maybe one day when I win the lottery 🥳 I'll get a new shock

Changed the fairings out for the carbon fiber ones
Some exhaust mods done to it
And experimenting with the rear shock pulled one apart
I bought a 04-05 stock rear shock to do it with
Cleaned it out
Drilled out the shock piston holes and used a file on the other holes
And got a valve with schrader valve for the bladder
Kept the shims the same want to see if it will make a difference just fresh oil and drilled out shock piston
Nice to see a fellow gen 1 enthusiast putting in work and modding the bike. Thanks for documenting your shock changes: let the community know what your fidings are after you get to try out your modded suspension! The carbon bodywork looks stunning, just splendid. It's not an easily obtainable piece of kit for an 18 years old bike!
