I need advice!

I just bought a new tank for my 2006 ZX10r, this new tank does not have the holes for the charcoal box and fuel return pump. I know I can remove the charcoal box, my main question is, is it possible to remove the fuel return pump? Some how rig it so that it does not need it? Or is it a necessity for the bike?

I'm asking because I heard the European versions don't have it, and that they were placed for California emissions. So I assume there is some type of way to get rid of it? (I know, I should've checked to make sure it had that when I bought the tank, rookie of the year.)
