i need a fuel map for a 2006 zx10r with atre installed running on the hard setting with a two brothers slip on single exhaust i tried the map off the power commander website and i still get some popping/backfiring closest dyno is hour and a half away anyone that can help me out i greatly appreciate it
try taking away 10 numbers in the 0% throttle section of your map from where ever the rpms fall and the bike pops if taking away the fuel doesnt help try adding.
I actually have an 05 and a slip on and mine did a lot of backfiring (decel popping)...some said a PCIII wouldn't help but I installed it, put in a new filter and new plugs and used the Arrow slip on map that dynojet offers and it has reduced very noticeably.
Could have something to do with the new air filter though too leaning out the mixture because the filter in was nasty black...I've been meaning to take some pictures.
yeah i'm going to go take that ride but i like to ride my bike on a everyday basis and i just got this bike last week it had the two brothers exhaust on it from the dealer and i already had my ATRE on my 06 zx10r that was totalled about two months ago when someone pulled out in front of me, so i ordered the powercommander and put it on so that my fuel/air ratio is correct and it solved alot of my low rpm power problems but i still get a backfire everyonce in a while, so maybe this weekend i will ride down to tallahasse or jacksonville and have the bike put on a dyno anyone know a fair price to dyno a bike?
Try doing what I suggested first.... most tuners all will do this to stop back firing, its usually the un-burnt fuel thats injected into the engine on decel burning after the ignition is fired and exhaust is open.... take away that extra fuel they add and you will take away that charge of fuel that pop's.
if you keep your eye on when it pops like say between 8k and 6k.... in the 0% column in your power commander map put a -10 from 6k to 8k and try it out.... if it still does it try a little more and if it still does it try adding fuel.
Ive tuned lots of bikes and this is not an uncommon thing... different set ups will want different amounts of fuel.
okay just so you know it doesnt have stock map in it it has the map from powercommander.com for the two brother slip on i'll try that and see what it does ....how accurate are the maps from the website? meaning how much do they need to be tweaked, and what does adding a atre mean for fueling adjustments
they are a good base map but does need messing with here and there depending on where you are at and such. not sure on the TRE part, Ive never used them on my bike, I removed everything they are supposed to control...
bro, i've got the same set up. i'll call my dyno guys and see what they did to stop my backfiring. think they removed something with the emissions stuff but i'll find out for you. got a custom tune and it's sweet with no backfire. that exhaust makes reasonable power, saves weight and sounds tough.
man if you could send me your map file for it i would greatly appreciate it , i also took the advice of changing the 0 throttle column from 0 to -10 from 1000 rpm to 6000 rpm and that stopped it from blowing blue fire out of the pipe when i reved it and let off so i think that helped some but if you had yours dynoed with the same setup then i think id like to try it out see what it does
no worries, i'll get on as soon as they let us back in our houses. still waiting for the fires to die down so the authorities will let us back into our neighborhoods.
map file available. let me know where to email it to. tried uploading it here w/no luck.
