I had to come up with a quick and temporary solution to mount my car GPS to the bike, and so I whipped up a cheap fix.

This solution isn't for every everybody, as it has drawbacks.

If you don't already have a GPS, go out there and buy a dedicated motorcycle GPS, since you can always use that in your car. Sure a motorcycle GPS is more expensive, but it's well worth it.

For those people like me that already have a car GPS, and just need a temporary or occasional solution, this might be for you.

Upsides:

-Utilizes existing Car GPS
-Cheap - all you need is velcro and scissors
-Easily mounted
-Temporary / occasional use - If you don't use the GPS all the time
-Fast - doesn't require a large time investment

Downsides:
-You lose a mirror
-Can't hear audible commands
-GPS unit runs off its own battery, so you'll have to turn it on & off to conserve power.
-Not a permanent solution for those that do serious travel
-Car GPS units are generally not weatherproof, so it's exposed to the elements
-Pain in the ass to take on & off in the city (if you want to avoid theft)

Very creative and also very easy to take off and on. Great quick solution for those of us who don't always need GPS but would occasionally have a use for it.

Thanks for sharing.

That is pretty badass! Only thing is, I'd rather have it on the tank so I can run a wire to it.
Those batteries die really quick....well mine at least.
