So both of my 10r's have this loud annoying vibration/rattle that comes from the front cowl, mostly from 4k-6k rpm's. And I notice it goes away if I push forward on the windscreen. So today I decide to go check it out and heres what i found.

First you gotta remove the front center cowl and windscreen as a unit. This requires removing the two center windcreen allen bolts, removing the mirrors, and then removing the 2 srews next to the gauge that hold the center cowl to the headlight.

After removal u can clearly see in the pic above where the harness coming from the gauge is rubbing the back of the center cowl.

In this pic u can see the mark again but u also see 2 smaller marks alittle higher up. These are where the brackets are rubbing the cowl where they bolt up to the upper stay.

In this pic you can see the front center cowl removed. See the red dot on the harness, well thats paint from the cowl its not supposed to be there. Also u can see the brackets that go to the windscreen, see where they bolt the upper stay? The round parts that are raised is where the cowl contacts them.

So to fix things I cleaned up the round parts of the brackets with alcohol and places some PTP tape on there (not shown in pic), its basicaly foam with tape on one side, tech's use it for rattles in cars and such. Also I found a bendable tab that wasnt being used when I installed my euros. It was completely straight and not holding anything so when I installed the euro's I removed it but held onto it. Well it came in handy cause in the next pic you can see how i used it to hold the harness out of the way. Looks factory!

Anyway when ur done just put it all together and u should have no more rattles from the front. Which makes me enjoy my bike so much more cause now i can listen to all the good sounds the 10r makes!

here is the pic of the left side of the bike where I found the tab not being used. It was attached to this bracket.
