I have 2 examples of fuel pumps and regulators to illustrate how to crush your fuel regulator for PERMANENT increased fuel pressure.04 ZX10 left/06 ZX10 right

This is a delicate proceedure and a small move goes a loonnnnggg way, so be gentle.

Remove the fuel pump, behind a small plastic side piece on the fuel pump body there will be small cap/cover.....GENTLY pry/unclip this cover to expose the regulator.

Next,pull out the valve, some gentle prying and twisting may be needed, as there is a very tight fitting O-Ring holding it in place.

Find appropriate sockets to support the valve body as shown and place in a vice........GENTLY apply the first nudge of pressure, moving the socket into the valve body just enough to make the metal flex....1/64" or less.

Fabricate an air chuck to hold the valve so you can apply air to see when the valve lifts to relieve pressure.

You can check before you crush, to verify that it's at 40psi or so.

Crush to desired PSI and re-assemble.

Can you elaborate on the benefits of this mod? My 2005 10R doesn't seem to have fueling issues other than running a little rich which causes nice popping on decel!

Is this a racing mod or.. ?

Adding a how to for nodding the injectors would be great too. Ill try to find the how to later and add it.
Really for those with built motors, boosted etc.

yup not a mod for everyone, but a nice basic trick.

On another bonus...my map runs negatives everywhere, so if the PC3 fails, then it defaults rich no matter whats going on, which makes for riding home possible........if the positive numbers were necessary, and in the +20 range, a failed PC3 would leave you stranded.

right now, I think if I went to 60psi with my motor I'd have mostly little numbers here and there.

Man great post, now I'm kicking myself cause I just sent my bike to the dyno and having this mod along with a upgraded fuel pump installed to support my nos system. :BangHead:

follow this up with the Walbro 255L upgraded fuel pump and you're armed and dangerous.

*note: the second picture show the supply spout with the missing o-ring...its up in the hole, you can just make out the black ring/line....pull out and put back on the spout when you re-install the pump assembly.(touch of greese or spit makes it slide in better)

Hey Jake do you still need some regulators? Having some issues with many pumps still trying figure out the main issues for each but all have at least 42psi...let me know, I like this thread and may be looking for some spare pumps soon. :thumbsup:

well, it's good to have spares kicking around for different projects.....i have a 42psi, 60 , and 80.........I would like to have a 50 and 55 for flexibility

let me know what you come across, I'd be good for 2 at least.

Well according to this thread you can kick them 42 higher if need be. :thumbsup: but yeah will let you know what I have.....I am getting ready right now to figure out what parts of 3 pumps are bad or good the only thing I know so far is they all have good pressure. :eek:ccasion14:

Bring back the dead here. Gonna give this a shot on my 11". Gonna start running E85 this weekend.
