Depending on where you look, it's either 1982 or 2012. :badteeth:

This suggests 1982:
http://www.kawasakimotorcycle.org/forum/main-lobby/1480-manufacturing-dates-serial-number.html

This one claims the VIN is wrong, but otherwise it's a 1982:
http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vinDecoder.asp

And according to this, you got a 2012:
http://www.vin-decoder.net

The average comes out to 1992.

Edit: There should be a sticker on the frame near the front, with the year/month of manufacture, but it may not exactly match the model date.

Should be 2004, early number VIN...
What color is the zx10r sticker on your tail, gold (2004) or red (2005)?

federal law mandates the 10th digit of a serial # reveals year model. your serial # posted is incorrect, 4 =04, 5=05. this supercedes any color matching or any other factor used to determine year model.

Vin order is off but should be 04 the 05 vin build number (last 5 digits) started at 20001.
The zx10 vin range for a 2004 is JKAZXCC1?40000001 a 2005 starts at JKAZXCC1?50020001.

Engine number is off also should read like this ZXT00CE000001

And some where on one of the stickers is a model number
ZX1000C1 2004
ZX1000C2 2005

look on the vin tag for the production date. for most asian mfgr's anything built august and later is the next model year. Ski

Where are you from?

You probably have a Non-US bike.
Mine starts with the same and the number is abit higher than yours so i bet 2004.
CCA stands for Europe, maybe Asia too but i am not sure..

European bikes don't have the sticker with manufacturing date etc.

Thanks for the reply,

I am from Europe ....the Netherlands.

That they use other chassis numbers in the USA-Canada.

I Thought it will be all the same , all around the world.

But oke´ ...its finally a 2004 bike.

Thanks again.:eek:ccasion1

Engine number isn't necessarily the same as the VIN. Only the VIN has any legal meaning. The engine number can be whatever the manufacturer wants to use.

With most Japanese bikes, the VIN and engine numbers will be within a couple hundred of each other at most. So if you have frame number 3000 and engine number 15,000 then you know its not the original. There are some exceptions to this but it is a fairly accurate way to tell with most bikes.

I curious as to why its not on the title of the bike? by law here in the us if you have title the year is on it also you need it for insurance.
